Why this Privacy and Cookie Policy?
When you purchase products from us and/or visit one of our websites (www.baconline.nl and www.bac.shop.nl), we may obtain personal information from and about you, including so-called “personal data” as defined by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For example, your name and address details that you provide to us for the delivery of your order.
We believe it is very important to handle your information carefully. We take all necessary precautions to keep your information confidential and adhere to the privacy rules set out in the GDPR.

Article 1: What information do we have about you?
In principle, we do not collect any data from visitors of our websites, unless the cookies present on the respective website collect information about your visit. For this, see Article 6 of this Privacy and Cookie Policy for more details. If you fill out a contact form or place an order through our websites, the following information may also be collected.
If you fill out a contact form on our website www.baconline.nl, you provide us (in addition to the content of your message) with the following information:
- Your name
- Your email address and/or your phone number.
If you place an order through our webshop www.bacshop.nl, we will process the following information in our system:
- Your first name;
- Your last name;
- Your company name (optional);
- Your email address;
- Your phone number (optional);
- Your street address and house number;
- Your postal code and city;
- Your country;
- The details of any different shipping or invoice address.
The IBAN number you use for your payment(s) to us is not stored by the underlying systems of the webshop (Shopify, MultiSafepay), nor by us. For customers who do not place orders via the aforementioned web shop, we may process the following data:
- Your first and last name or your company name;
- Your email address;
- Your phone number (optional);
- Your street address and house number;
- Your postal code and city;
- Your VAT number;
- Any details of a contact person within your company (name, email address, phone number);
The details of any different shipping or invoice address.
From our suppliers (for example, suppliers of our products, raw materials or materials, a transport company or an IT company we engage, our accountant, etc.) we may collect the following data:
- Your company name;
- Your email address;
- Your phone number;
- Your street address and house number;
- Your postal code and city;
- Your IBAN number;
- Any details of a contact person within your company (name, email address, phone number).
Article 2: What do we use your information for?
We use the information you provide to us by filling out in a contact form on our website www.baconline.nl to respond to your specific message, for example, to contact you in order to answer a question you have asked us.
We use the information from our (potential) customers for sending a quotation or for fulfilling the agreement we have with our customers, such as:
- Processing your order;
- Our invoicing;
- The delivery;
- Possible contact regarding the order or (your payment of) our invoice.
We use the information from our suppliers for the following purposes:
- For placing our order or assignment with you;
- For making payments to you;
- For any further contact regarding our order or assignment or the ongoing agreement, for inquiries, etc.
Article 3: To whom do we provide your information and why?
We keep the information we obtain from or about you confidential and use this information solely for the purposes described in this Privacy and Cookie Policy. We do not share information with third parties - and third parties do not have access to this information - unless:
- You have given your explicit permission;
- It is necessary for the performance of the assignment or order. For example: if we have your order delivered by an external transport service, we will provide this transport service with the necessary information;
- It is otherwise necessary for our business operations. For example, our accountant has access to customer data through our accounting systems in order to carry out his tasks, and our IT company has access to our system when performing maintenance or related services on this system.

Article 4: How do we ensure your information remains secure?
We take the security of your personal data very seriously.
Our computer system is adequately secured and is accessible within our company only to a limited number of our employees. We use personal passwords and 2-step verification.
Our IT company can access our systems via TeamViewer when necessary for maintenance or support tasks. This can only be done with our permission, and we monitor the actions performed by the IT company's employee in our system. One of the responsibilities of our IT company is specifically to ensure that the data in our systems is protected.
As already indicated in Article 3 above, our accountant also has access to our system via our accounting software. Through this access, the accountant can view our entire administration in order to perform necessary administrative tasks. Our accountant also uses a personal account with 2-step verification.
In addition, employees of our external website administrator have access to our websites and the underlying information for the purpose of managing the websites. Here too, 2-step verification is required. These employees do not disclose any information they may access (for example, data from orders placed via the website) to third parties outside of the systems used on our websites (SocialCMS for www.baconline.nl and Shopify/MultiSafepay for www.bacshop.nl) and, to the extent necessary to the suppliers of these systems.
Article 5: How long do we retain your information?
We only retain your personal data for as long as necessary for the purpose for which we collected it, for example, in the case of our customers, for fulfilling your orders including invoicing and any subsequent processing. This may include, for instance, fulfilling any warranty obligations after delivery.
We only deviate from this if we are required by law or regulations to retain data for a longer period. For example, to comply with our legal obligations towards the Tax Authorities.Additionally, the information we obtain from you through our website www.baconline.nl when you fill out a contact form is automatically deleted from the CMS (content management system) of this website after 365 days.
Article 6: Cookies
We would also like to inform you about the cookies on our website. A cookie is a small text file containing information. A cookie can be used, for example, to collect or store information about how you behave on a website, such as which parts of the website you have viewed. Through cookies, we may also obtain personal information from or about you.

Under the GDPR, you have various rights regarding your data:
a. The right to access, correct, or delete your data;
b. The right to object;
c. The right to restrict processing.
What do these rights entail?
Accessing, correcting, or deleting information
You may want to know exactly what data we have about you in our system at a given time. In that case, you can request access to this information.
If the information we have about you is (potentially) incorrect, you can request that we correct it in our system.
You can also request that we delete your information. For example, if you believe that we still have data about you in our system that is no longer necessary for fulfilling an agreement. In such cases, you can ask us to delete the data. Unless we are required to retain the relevant data based on legal obligations, we are obliged to delete your data upon your request.
Right to object
This right means that you can object to our use of your data. Unless we have a "compelling legitimate interest" to continue using your data (for example, based on legal obligations), we must cease the use of your data and delete your data from our system.
Right to restrict processing
You also have the right to request that we temporarily stop using your personal data. This may be the case, for example, if you have submitted a request to correct or delete your data, but we still need time to assess your request.
In all these situations, you can send your request to us by email at info@baconline.nl. Please clearly specify your request and which data it concerns. We will respond as soon as possible, but no later than within one month.
Article 8: Changes to this Privacy and Cookie Policy
It is possible that we may amend (parts of) this Privacy and Cookie Policy in the future. For example, in case of changes to the cookies we use on our websites. Therefore, we recommend that you review this statement regularly to stay informed about any updates.
Article 9: Complaints
We take the protection of your privacy and personal data very seriously. Nevertheless, you may feel that we are not handling your data carefully. If so, we would like to hear from you. Please send an email to info@baconline.nl clearly stating the nature of your complaint. You will receive an acknowledgment ofreceipt from us within 7 working days. In addition, we aim to respond substantively to your complaint within 7 working days after receiving it. Together, we can then work toward a solution.
If we are unable to resolve the matter, you have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (“Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens”).
